...making art is making peace

Painting is a solitary activity and meditative in nature.  It unlocks the subconscious, opens the mind and beckons the artist into timeless, moment by moment awareness.  The most important thing about this zen of painting is the process--the doing--not the product or display. Yet, what you see on my website is the product, the display of my artistic doing.  Hopefully, you will enjoy the trace of my painting process and see into my experience of picking up a sturdy brush, mixing up complex colors, and applying paint strokes on canvas to create a new expression of a traditional composition.

Being in the moment, making intuitive decisions, and creating something lovely, is the adventure and fun of art. It is a way to understand the subject and myself in a known and unknown ways.  My paintings reflect my experiences,  inspirations, dreams and visions.  And most importantly, painting brings my mind to a place of delight, acceptance and peace.
